In the future I predict three things for Amazon. They will make money on digital media, they will become a DIY (do-it-yourself) company and they will start providing excellent customer service. I think Amazon can reach all three of those targets and even more. It is amazing what a little dreaming can do and it appears that Amazon will be able to combine all three things and create an awesome future.
I say all this because in order for Amazon to achieve any of the goals I outlined in this article they are going to have to overcome a couple of barriers. First, there will be an Internet bubble effect where hundreds of companies will jump into the digital media industry with geeks inventing the next great new thing. It will be like a giant technological explosion where everybody is trying to create the next great digital media product or service. Amazon will get sucked into this and be left behind. Only then will the real digital media players step up to the plate and take the market by storm.
I also predict Amazon will continue to grow in size for the next several years. They have already said they will not be slowing down expansion even though the economy is down. Amazon is one company that will grow year after year and develop its own virtual marketplace where consumers from around the world can shop. If you are a seller on Amazon, you know the power of this marketplace and how powerful it is.
Amazon will continue to build their brand reputation in the marketplace and establish themselves as a credible and dependable company that sells products people need and want. This will take time and it will require patience. But, the Amazon brand and reputation will continue to grow like nothing before. This is why I believe all sellers need to know in 2120 that Amazon has plans to continue expanding and taking over the marketplace.
